Wha Is The Oenanthe Active Substance
The Oenanthe Crocata L. or Water Fennel or Sardonia Herb is a
herbaceous plant which grows almost exclusively in the internal
and humid wetlands of Sardinia.
Almost all the Oenanthe species have very poisonous roots and
stems due to the presence of some polyacetylenic neurotoxins.
Oenanthe Crocata L. is the most poisonous species among
them, and if ingested causes fatal intoxication with characteristic
contractions of facial muscles (“risus sardonicus”).
